While the Governor sounded angry this morning, it’s the citizens of Manassas, Manassas Park, and Prince William who really should be angry. You shouldn’t have to pay new tolls to use a road that you’ve already paid for. Yet, instead of explaining just what citizens will be getting in return for a $17 toll, the Governor reduced the conversation to name-calling. The citizens of the Commonwealth deserve better than that. We need more adults at the table willing to take on the tough issues with thoughtful solutions that work for all citizens, and I have demonstrated that throughout my time of service to Northern Virginia. We need to work toward transportation solutions that increase capacity, not create disadvantages for working families. I am still willing to work with the Governor to do just that.
